Happy Friday! We are back with more information on extensions. The next type of extension technique that we will discuss is Fusion. There are 2 options for Fusion extensions. Fusion is one of the oldest extension techniques. Fusion extensions are great for those who have committed to hair extensions. If you love wearing extensions and plan to wear them for any length of time, Fusion is the best option for you. Fusion is not ideal for clients that want their hair hidden or masked as your hair is visible and your hair and the extensions will need to be maintained as you would your hair. Clients with thinning hair may not be the best candidate for Fusion extensions as a small amount of coverage is need in the crown area to mask the attachments. This technique looks and feels very natural on most clients whether they have fine hair or a full head of hair.
As always, with any extension technique, it is important to seek out a certified and experience stylist to complete your extension service, to avoid damage to your hair.
The first is Hot Fusion extensions. This method is most common as it does not require much more than keratin and a keratin melting tool. The keratin tipped extension is melted on a small section of your hair bonding the two together. This method is time consuming because 100-200 small fusion sections per head depending on your hair thickness and density. The time span is usually 4-5 hours depending on the amount of hair being added in.
Cold Fusion is similar to Hot Fusion. Cold Fusion requires a Cold fusion machine. These machines can be expensive and this is the reason that most stylist do not offer Cold Fusion extensions. Cold Fusion keeps the heat away from the client's allowing for more comfort and eliminating the opportunity to burn the client or stylist during the process. This does not mean that the hair can not be damaged with Cold Fusion, that is why it is so important to seek out a stylist that has been trained and certified on Cold Fusion Techniques. Again, 100-200 small sections are applied for a full head of Fusion extensions. Some Cold Fusion systems will still require 4-5 hours for installation, but as technology improves, our knowledge and application techniques improve as well, and we offer Euro SoCap Cold Fusion which takes 90 minutes or less for a full head application. Also, with Euro SoCap Cold Fusion the attachments become transparent and allow for less visibility of the attachment.
Fusion extension are more expensive than other extension services, but the benefits outweigh the expense. Fusion extentions last from 4 to 6 months, so that you are only required to visit your stylist for this service 2 to 3 times per year. And depending on the Fusion technique that you and your stylist select, the time you spend in the salon can be minimal as well.
